**Certain e-mail accounts subject to ban

Postby NCSUDucker » Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:36 pm

Hey guys/gals. The bulk of the spam comes from a couple of different email domains. Primarily, hotmail, yahoo, google-mail, gmail and aol. So if you are trying to register with an email using those domains, you are going to get a banned message. There are a couple of options here, you can contact me and I will gladly point you in the right direction for a free email account or you can contact me with your email address that you want to use and I can exclude it from the ban.

Hate to have to do this, but you would not beleive the volume of spam/fake accounts that come from these domains.

Thanks,
Brad

I'm guessing if we are already registered, we are safe?

Yeah...I went in and checked all of the current member emails and excluded them from the ban if they were yahoo, etc...

I hate to have to do it, but if not there would easily be 100 spoof members per day.

Hey there,

New to the board and I think I got caught up in one of those bans. Either way, I am webmaster for a company and from experience can tell you to make sure the BB softward is up-to-date...the spammer boogers can find bugs in the software that can make life hell.

Best of luck, glad to have joined...thanks Tony

That explains the problem I was having trying to register. Good thing I have 2 emails, but I would like to use my other email.

Shoot me your other email address and I can exclude it from the ban.
